Ingredients

  • 1 cup Bob’s Red Mill Organic Whole Wheat Flour*
  • 1 tbsp baking powder
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 1/4 tsp allspice ground
  • 1 cup quick cooking oats
  • 1/3 cup unsweetened applesauce
  • 1 1/2 cups unsweetened almond milk
  • 3 tbsp maple syrup
  • 2 tbsp canola oil OPTIONAL
  • 1 tsp pure vanilla extract
  • 1 1/2 cups frozen blueberries wild blueberries preferred

Instructions

  • Sift flour, baking powder, salt and allspice into a mixing bowl. Mix in the oats. In a separate bowl, mix applesauce, milk, maple syrup, oil and vanilla. Stir into the bowl with the oat mixture just until combined.
  • Let the batter thicken for about 5 minutes. Mix in the blueberries.
  • Cook in waffle iron according to manufacturer directions.

Notes

These can be made ahead and frozen for later.
