Blueberry Oatmeal Waffles

Ingredients
- 1 cup Bob’s Red Mill Organic Whole Wheat Flour*
- 1 tbsp baking powder
- 1/2 tsp salt
- 1/4 tsp allspice ground
- 1 cup quick cooking oats
- 1/3 cup unsweetened applesauce
- 1 1/2 cups unsweetened almond milk
- 3 tbsp maple syrup
- 2 tbsp canola oil OPTIONAL
- 1 tsp pure vanilla extract
- 1 1/2 cups frozen blueberries wild blueberries preferred
Instructions
- Sift flour, baking powder, salt and allspice into a mixing bowl. Mix in the oats. In a separate bowl, mix applesauce, milk, maple syrup, oil and vanilla. Stir into the bowl with the oat mixture just until combined.
- Let the batter thicken for about 5 minutes. Mix in the blueberries.
- Cook in waffle iron according to manufacturer directions.
Notes
These can be made ahead and frozen for later.
